Bangladesh, located in Southern Asia, is officially known as the People's Republic of Bangladesh. Bangladesh is one of the most thickly populated nations in the world. The economy of Bangladesh is agriculture based and rice, wheat, jute, tea, sugarcane and tobacco are its major crops. It is the largest producer of jute in the world. Since it's an agricultural country, three-fifths of the population is involved in farming. Main industries of Bangladesh include: jute manufacturing, fertilizer, cotton textiles, garments, tea processing, paper newsprint, sugar, light engineering, chemical, cement, food processing, iron and steel. |
